IF nobody else transfers out?

There are 49 scholarship players on the roster plus 11 seniors that get a free year if they choose. Some of them have confirmed they intend to return already. Two were suspended by the prior staff and are still at Arizona. I would assume they will be given another shot and count them. That adds to 49!

We currently have 11 seniors. The following have indicated they will likely return

DL Lopez
DL Blackwell
DL Mason

Wolma, McCauley, Havrisik, Cunningham, Wallace, Pandy, Tapusoa, would all benefit from an extra year. Also Bailey and Cockran.

Those player will not count against the 85 limit either way.

Three transfer incoming guys so far.

We would have at least 15 more open roster spots with that total for the coming year. The transfer portal has a lot of talent waiting to be had. Still will be more to enter it.

One such is Jason Harris who has entered it and should be coming home to play for the Wildcats.

The DC needs to be filled quickly will likely be announced this week if not by tomorrow.

Thanks for the headcount. That’s a lot of spots to fill.

Any chance the staff looks at JUCO transfers?  Somebody like Alex Lemon or Fred Thompkins?

Fortunately, the transfer portal has been full for the past year and there’s plenty of leftovers to choose from.

Never officially off, but even so, new staff and he is still on campus.

OK a few updates.

-DL Lopez has declared for the draft but did not count against the 85 if he had stayed.
-Khary Crump has now entered the transfer portal.
+Jason Harris has committed to Arizona from Colorado
+Isaiah Rutherford has committed to Arizona from ND
+4 Jamarye Joiner, Stanley Berryhill, Boobie Curry, and Majon Wright have remover their names from the portal
+Isaiah Taylor committed to Arizona
+Anthony Simpson committed to Arizona
We should still have 8 open spots remaining with 20 in the current class and one enrolling early so far that I know of we could take 6 more traditional recruits in this class. I do not think the transfers count against the incoming class.

Steven Bailey is moving on and will not effect the over all numbers.

OK, QB Millen has decommitted

Frank Brown has entered the portal

Mykee Irving has entered the portal.

That adds two more openings on the roster and one more traditional recruit opening. So maybe 11 total spots to fill and 7 traditional signees.

Hated losing Millen and Brown. Both are top notch players. Irving has been here three years and hardly seen the field.

Shocked that Millen bailed. Maybe the new staff wasn’t as high on him as Sumlin. Looks like they’re inevitably going after a transfer QB.

We’re loaded at RB. I was somewhat surprised when Briwn initially committed in the first place because he had no shot at playing for a while.

Irving is a strange situation. Although he hasn’t contributed much, I thought he could help as a senior because Lopez opted to enter the NFL draft. We need a DL...
