Oregon's Kenny Wooten will not return & enters NBA draft
« on: May 20, 2019, 10:57:25 AM »
Oregon's Kenny Wooten will not return & enters NBA draft. He only averaged 6.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.2 blocks for the Ducks last season. This makes him the 7th player to leave last year's team, which leaves them with only 6 scholarship players. There's still a chance it could get worse as Oregon still doesn't know if PG Payton Pritchard will return as he's still testing the NBA waters. They've missed out on almost every 2019 recruit they've gone after & things are not looking good for Dana & the Ducks.

WOW... doom and gloom on that board... donít blame them though. Seriously, what is the problem at Oregon? Why are they missing every recruiting target?

Damn, that Nike money must've dried up. Not too surprised he'd leave with the pretty weak draft class this year. Altman has done a good job with transfers and they could still put together a decent team but probably nowhere near where they were projected to be next season.

This is crazy as it's so much like what we went through last season. Only difference is that our down season was due to ESPN/FBI. I get the players jumping to early to the NBA/G League, but what's up with Miles Norris & Victor Baily transferring when there's plenty of playing time to be had? Not a good look. They will be the new transfer/JC U next season.

Oregon always has a crazy amount of turnover.  They're far from being a "family-program"...but Altman always seems to find ways to win.

Losing Wooten is likely enough to put Arizona as the "team to beat" in the Pac next season...although USC & UW may be able to contend.

It's amazing these days the types of players leaving early for the pros. Kids who haven't really set themselves apart at the college level and aren't likely to be drafted. Wooten may slip into the second round, but still.  The NCAA will need to figure this out soon or nearly every kid will become a one and done and leave for a sub NBA pro league.
Oregon is going to be in a tough spot next season.  You have to wonder if there is something going on with Nike or something.  Never seen a mass exodus like this on a team retaining its coach and staff.
Bear Down.

I wouldn't worry about Oregon.  I'm sure Altman can find some players.  Go to the county jail and watch their pick up games...

Gary Parrish dropped Oregon from his ďTop 25 +1Ē ... didnít know one player was the difference between #14 and unranked ...

Arizona is the only PAC-12 team in his ranking.

With Brandon Randolph and Dylan Smith on Parrish's list of "expected returnees", I assume that this was more of a homework assignment from CBS...he obviously didn't do a lot of in-depth research regarding the projected lineups.

With Arizona?
Most definitely he didnít.

Itís ironic when almost all programs have a fan forum like this.
Maybe 1-2hrs and he would have had a list of players that is rumored not to return.
Sports media has gone down the trash to simply rush to put something out to generate clicks.
