5* Isaiah Stewart commits to Washington
« on: January 20, 2019, 09:46:08 PM »
Isaiah Stewart, (#5 ESPNU, #2 C) commits to Washington today on national TV.
Stewart from New York could have chosen ANY top program to play at, as his final five were Duke/Kentucky/Michigan State & Syracuse, but ended up choosing Hopkins and Washington.
Oh and they also landed Kentucky transfer Quade Green, who will be eligible in January when PAC-12 play kicks off.

Between Oregon/USC & Washington, the PAC-12 is going to be loaded with elite freshmen coming in leading the way.
I wonder who is going to be the preseason favorite to win the PAC-12?
Throwing my guess out there, I would not be picking Arizona right now, my nod might go to USC again..

I couldn't help noticing ESPN's headline on UDUB's big commitment...  "Isaiah Stewart a big addition for UW, but one-and-done a possibility".  Why would you include the "but" portion of that headline if only to make it look like its not that great of a get by Washington, pulling a top 7 recruit from the Midwest into the Pac-12.  I mean, isn't almost every recruit, top 5 or not, a "one-and-done possibility"?  Washington is another Pac-12 school that has been getting hammered by ESPN's self proclaimed "experts" and its getting really old.  If you google it you can see the long history they have with a couple of ESPN writers taking digs at them over and over.

Anyhoo, so glad to see that there should be a lot of returning talent along with some top incoming talent next season in the Pac-12.  Badly needed!  I really didn't expect to see Washington in the running for this caliber of player already.  Very glad to see it.  Kid reminds me of Anthony Bennett.

I noticed the same. When you go on ESPN's recruiting page the big top headline is Carey's commitment to Duke from December 8th... Then as you scroll down you see a poorly worded headline somehow slighting Washington for the biggest recruit they have gotten in years.

Then there is a story about Josh Green but the logo on the story is just a basketball instead of the ARIZONA logo like the rest of the stories... Convenient

So wrong.  Can't stand the way ESPN manipulates perception of college sports.  I saw last week that on our team page they removed all of the game summaries so that the week old story of Book's plea deal(and massive evil photo) and coinciding tweets from Schlabach would remain at the top of the page lol.  And yea, like you mentioned, the Josh Green story doesn't even have a photo of him or Arizona or anything.  So ridiculous.  They are launching the ACC Network this year(an ESPN product) so they have been saturating all of their content with ACC related stories.

We all know that ESPN is geared towards catering to the ACC and SEC media markets.
The worst part about it is that we all know this and we have our own network that does not seem to showcase us as good as it could be.
We won't get any love from ESPN especially with the way we have come after those that work for ESPN that has made the comments they have about Miller and Arizona.
