Stop building Doutrive into something he is not.

I am saying this not to bash him but asa fan you need to temper your expectations.

Doutrive was editing last year because the entire team sucked ass. Sorry, there is not other way to say it. 4-star Williams is the worst starting point guard since Mustafa Shakur. He is not Arizona good and might be chronically injured. Jeter would have been an 11th or 12th man on one of Lute's teams. Doutrive averaged 3.3 points per game on a team desperate for talent.

You can watch Hazzard for 2 minutes and know he is better. Baker is WAAAAAY better.

Miller blew all of his extra cash on Ayton...and had none left over for last years class. Literally, not one of those guys on the team last year was Arizona good.

Get over it. It is true and if you've watched AZ basketball for more than a decade, you know it is true.

I like Doutrive...I hope he becomes all that he wants to be...same for Williams, Barcello, same for Jeter, Coleman, Randolph and Akot... Really glad not one of them remains from last year... oh, except for Jeter...who will be backing up Koloko by PAC12 season.

'editing' is what spell check choose when I typed 'enticing'...I type fast...

Also, the pint i left out. Not one single person on the entire Wildcat roster form last year will ever even sniff a second of NBA time. When was the last time you could say that? I literally cannot recall a single year since Lute got here that it is true of, but last year was that year.

It's unfair to throw Doutrive into a generalization of underachievers when he's only played the equivalent of seven 40-minute college basketball games.

He has been extremely overhyped because we saw an amazing performance during the Red/Blue game.  Sidiki Johnson had a big R/B game & we know how that turned out.

Regardless, the entire Arizona fanbase was truly upset when DD announced that he's transferring.  That says a lot because most fans turn on players when they opt to go elsewhere.  Doutrive is not a great shooter, but he hustles, slashes to the basket, shares the ball and works hard on defense.  That's exactly what the Cats need from a bench player.

Unfortunately, this team is already loaded at every position (except maybe PG).  DD likely won't have a big opportunity to contribute...which could likely lead to another transfer announcement at the end of the season.  I personally hope that isn't the case because he would likely play a HUGE role on next year's team...especially if he works on his jump shot.

Miller said he was going to start until the incident what ever it was.  That means he was at the time better than Baker, Smith, Hazzard.  I cant believe I am saying this but I agree with Liquid on the fact of how low the talent level was last year.  I don't expect anybody who was hear last year to ever be world beater...except maybe Doutrive.  It would be unfair to right him off after last year.  Who knows what he will become at this point.

Oh...and I wouldn't completely overlook Ira Lee as an NBA prospect.  With the way he is progressing, I'm optimistic that he could earn a roster spot after next year!

Not likely,  Ira is no Charles Barkley.

And his NAU game was the worst performance from a player since Shakur scored negative two points in a game. :)

That is the point. He was not able to break through and earn more minutes on a team in desperate need of talent.

I am NOT suggesting he cannot improve and become a very good player...but he is not going to supplant Baker, Mannion, Green or Hazzard.
