Did Dylan Smith just admit that he's transferring?
« on: May 15, 2019, 12:09:12 AM »
We've been saying Smith is going to end up transferring for a while, but have yet to hear anything. Smith may have just let the CAT out of the bag. Or did he?

Dylan Smith commented on a graphic where it was pointed out the newest commit Baker was wearing his jersey #3. He said "It is big dog but weíre happy to have Jemarl! #BearDown"

Here's where it gets interesting when he replied to a fan. It all depends on how you interpret it.

Could be one of those situations where you answer questions truthfully but you know the end game.
No one else had entered the transfer portal YET, would have been a much better indicator.

Either way, Smith is going to buried on the depth chart that it might benefit him to transfer, or simply retire and stay at Arizona because he doesnít want to move again.

The problem is that he may not get buried.  If Smith stays, Miller has proven that he gets minutes for defensive efforts...which sucks because he is a wildly inconsistent shooter.

I'd like to see him play a big role as a grad transfer in the SEC/ACC, but we'll likely know what happens in the near future.

Maybe Dylan Smith stays on board like Justin Coleman and helps out as a paid employee foregoing his eligibility and gets a head start on the real world on the staff.

I like the idea...also like Pastner.  He would help immensely with his abilities in practice.

CSM is loyal to the players that are loyal to the program so yes it could happen or he could grad transfer but until it happens who knows. Smith is a great kid that did not live up to the wild expectations of Arizona fans is all. Last year was almost a step back to the first couple years CSM was here in that our recruiting class was gutted and the talent level a little different. The one thing we do know is that either Brandon Randolph, Dylan Smith, or Someone else will not return next year. Also that if Arizona takes in Brown then three of our players will not return next year. I don't believe there is any way we take more than that as someone suggested. Not mentioning names of who said it but it was not right.

and it seems like CSM and Smith have a tighter-than-normal bond, when Sean speaks it seems more personal than some others (and that's saying a lot, because of how Sean speaks of his guys usually).

Why would Smith wait this long to announce he is transferring?  He could have been using this time to see who is interested in him.  I think he stays, but sees dramatically less minutes.

Someone will have to leave if Jordan brown commits  we are one over now with Baker committing  but thinking  Randolph does not return  we would be at 13 again but if brown wants to come that means likely Smith or dd leave I hope Smith leaves an not dd  he has more upside than Smith.

Iím not going to lie, it was hard for me to read that without the punctuation.
Once I figured it out, I believe the writing is on the wall that BR/DS are out.
No we havenít heard the official word, but we have not heard anything from Randolph, and Baker is in an edit wearing the number of a player that still has eligibility.
Just like WILDcatAZfan said, that was not done by mistake.
Call it a subliminal or whatever, but Iím sure Smith now knows that his scholarship will not be renewed next season.

Jason Scheer is saying that Dylan Smith is most likely staying. God I hope not! I don't want to lose DD because Dylan Smith want to stay.

I heard Jason  say that on radio scare me I wanna keep dd  an not Smith dd has a higher upside  he will improve Smith is what he is   a streak shooter an he plays hard but he is not a good enof of a defender  or passer an he is sloppy with the ball.
