1. Duke    If Marvin Bagley III isn't cleared for freshmen eligibility to start the season, obviously, this ranking will need to be adjusted. But for now I'm operating as if Bagley plays. And, if Bagley plays, he'll be spectacular. He's not just a great prospect, you see? He's also a great player who will be capable of contributing in a big way the moment he steps onto a college basketball court, and he'll benefit from playing with a natural point guard like Trevon Duval who should be able to create easy scoring opportunities for the highly skilled and explosive athlete.

2. Arizona    The return of Allonzo Trier, Rawle Alkins and Dusan Ristic means Arizona has three double-digit scorers back to pair with a heralded recruiting class headlined by DeAndre Ayton and Emmanuel Akot. So the Wildcats are both experienced and talented. And that's usually a combination that produces lots of wins and even championships.

Sporting News still thinks Arizona is number one.
Freshmen are still freshmen I think.

Very true, but it is hard to go with that when you land the #1 PG/SG/PF/C in one recruiting class.
This is coming from someone that HATES many Duke fans because of their arrogance.
If we landed those four, I would be hyped as **** and instantly putting us a lock for a Final Four in April.

The one thing that could hurt Duke is their lack of depth.
They landed a SEVEN-man recruiting class to go along with Allen/Bolden as the only returners to play meaningful minutes last season.
I expect all seven of their freshmen to play this season, and that could come back to bite them relying on so many freshmen.
When so many are top 10-15 recruits though, most of them figure it out and make it happen though.

If your Bolden you've gotta be pissed as hell about Bagley coming in when they begged him to come back. Bagley and Carter are going to get most of the minutes.

Their 7th best freshman is not in the top THREE HUNDRED of 247. Also, Bolden was atrocious last year. This is a superstar starting 5 that will need to find 2-3 bench players to have a chance. Right now best chances are Alex O'Connell and Jordan Tucker IMO. May need to find serviceable minutes from one of Bolden/DeLaurier/Vrankovic.
