Arizona holds off Chico St winning 74-65 after slow start

Thirty minutes before tip-off Zeke Nnaji (ankle injury) and Devonaire Doutrive (suspension) were declared out, ridding Arizona of two of its top players.

UA then got all it could handle by the visiting Wildcats, who led at halftime and for parts of the second half before Arizona pulled away for a 74-65 victory.

A thunderous dunk by Green gave Arizona a 39-38 lead with 15:35 left, highlighting a 9-2 run that gave UA a six-point lead, its largest...

Green is very talented, he has that lateral movement we've been missing on D for a while, very quick feet and hands, baller

Mannion appears to be able to see everything on court and can anticipate what is about to unfold, even if his shooting isn't perfect his dishing will be a huge plus

everybody who bitched about Lee should have to try to take the ball from him, he's still not as quick as he needs to be but he's bulked up and has an attitude, much matured over last year

Jeter and Smith are both excellent defenders, both seem a little snake-bit, they both have limitations but neither is as bad as some on here portray - they'll both have their ups and owns this year

we have some shooters, Hazzard and Gettings look like they can hit a shot

I hope Koloko is here for a while, looks like a solid prospect

lots of new faces, they looked like a team looks in November, haven't completely jelled but the chemistry feels good

I was more impressed with the team than I expected to be!  Miller has a lot to work with!

Green had a terrible night but I love watching him play. I expect him to ves huge contributor on both sides of the floor.

Nico was a little sloppy. Iíd rather he have an off night when it matters least.

Lee obviously took the biggest stride from last season. His offensive moves are impressive and he will keep opponents out of the paint.

I worry that Chase will get hurt. I like seeing him take charges but he will face some big men this season that could lay him out. He missed a couple easy shot, yet he looked good with his back to the basket.

Not sure why Smith is on the floor. Iíve seen zero improvement over the past few years. Ugly shots, bad decisions and hesitant passes.

Stone and Hazzard will be out best outside threats. Baker needs to keep slashing towards the basket; reminds me of Momo.

Iíd be ecstatic if Koloko stayed for four years. Bulk him up and heíll be our most valuable asset as an upperclassman.

Ugly game...but we only make negative headlines if we lose!

Few surprises for me this game. Ira looked more of a post threat than Jeter. Max is better than I hoped. This game was a lot more controlled, didnít really open up and run. Team Looked lost without Nico running the point.

Think Nnaji and Doutrive will bring some excitement. Hope thatís soon because Smith couldnít even pass the ball last night.

Nice to see team last night   it was far  fromperfect  game   jeter an ira looked good inside most perimeter  players could not make a outside shot except max  who did not play enough    smith is still jacking up shots  an can't  buy one    I know nico will get his shot  going  it will be nice to see full team    play I think miller should have started one of baker or hazzard    an not smith I know he plays hard on defense   but  he is such a liability  on offense an passing.

I agree with the above posts that there is a lot of talent there.  Also that the team didn't look real good in this first game.  I believe that could be a result of both Zeke and DD not being on the court.  They've been a big part of the team so far, from the reports on practices, etc.  To have them both not playing could have caused a lot of confusion because of players who wouldn't have started...gotten as much playing time.  Hard to say.  I was pretty much at a loss for the play in the first half, but then Coach Miller did his usual and got them focusing on defense and the second half looked a lot better.  This team has talent and will get a lot better.  I can't wait to see them after they get the problems smoothed out.   Knowing how Coach Miller works, I suspect that won't be very long.

Each new season, when it comes to judging talent, I get it wrong. This year, I think I'll wait until the season is over to either say, "I told you so," or "how could I have been so wrong?" I hope it's the latter.
