This is not hard. If he can and will run...designed plays and broken plays...Tate is the man. There is no question.

But between his baffling psyche of not wanting to run and Mazzones brain,  dead idiotic offense that takes what ever the defense is NOT giving them...

then Gunnell is the guy

Gunnell.  Tate is broken.   I don't know what happened but he's done.  I think he has a lingering injury myself.  He's afraid of getting hurt again.  I also believe at this point his only NFL future is on a practice team and that will be short lived.

As much as I love seeing Gunnell on the field, we need our O-Line to step up before he earns significant time.

Neither QB has a lot of time to make decisions & I don't want the QB of our future to get hurt.  If Creason returns and the rest of the line pulls their heads out of the sand, I'd prefer to see the freshman.

Stanford has a huge D-Line & we need to scheme a lot of quick screens/slants to keep the running game honest.  If we don't attack the Cardinal secondary, they'll stuff the box & we'll have a repeat of the USC nightmare again.

Short answer: keep Tate on the field & see if he can regain some confidence.

Gunnell...something isn't right with Tate, the coaches and the O line.

I wonder if someone said something that pissed off the O line. Almost like Tate tried to tell them how to do their job or something. They didn't take to kindly to it and responded by allowing the blitz through.

It would be absurd to burn a redshirt year for Grant on this season.  I mean why, to increase our chance at a nothing bowl?

if Everybody is calling for Sumlinís head, I couldnít imagine a situation where a talented Gunnell needs 5 years of eligibility at Arizona.

Iíd love to see him stay through January 1, 2024 but I envision him in the NFL by that point. If the staff is fired and he leaves the program, he may have to sit out another season (depending on the ncaa).

We all know that what we say as fans///doesnt mean a damn thing....sort of:  But there is something glaringly wrong with Tate. Unlike the Jenkins Smith era...we had our favorites but that debate was one of utilizing each other's strengths. Tate is losing it there needs to be a change, especially if Tate screws up again.
