JJ Taylor and Nick Wilson
« on: July 18, 2017, 12:22:47 PM »
If both can stay healthy(which is a big if), we could have two of the best running backs in the conference.  The two running backs really compliment each other well I think.  If they can stay healthy, Arizona should at least make it to a bowl game this year.

I totally agree.  The 2 big questions are who is going to start & can Wilson go a full season without injury.  I say Taylor should start with Wilson coming in to give him a spell or maybe for a couple of drives a game.

It looks like J.J. Taylor will be the starting running back to start the season. I'm being told that freshman Nathan Tilford is going to step right in & contribute right away, so he might bypass Wilson at some point in the season.  I think he'll be used a lot during short yardage or goal line situations.  J.J Taylor says Tilford's going to be a Monster at 6'2 & Green said he's ready to play now.  The linebackers are also saying he's hard to talk & you have to go for his thighs or people better get out of his way.  All the the players including fellow running backs are saying he's going to be something special.  This may be the best running back trio we have ever had. If the QB's can keep the defenses honest, the running game is going to be insane!

All three backs are top notch RBs. All three will see time. The question is if Wilson can stay healthy. If so, I would say that he and JJ would get most of the touches. With a healthy Wilson, what coach would not want to RS a guy like Tilford? Not likely to happen, but we are only running one back at a time. If Shun Brown were not our best receiver at the slot I would think that we would put JJ there, but those weapons we are talking about are real threats to take it to the house on any play. Not to mention the running ability of either QB. If the receivers on the outside and the TEs can get the mid routes going, this team will punish opponents.
