Arizona Vs Texas Tech game discussion thread 9/14/19 at 7:30pm PAC12N

Arizona earned its first win of the season, topping in-state foe Northern Arizona, 65-41 in its first home game of the season. The Red Raiders moved to 2-0 on the season with a 38-3 win over UTEP in Lubbock. Known traditionally for its offense, Texas Techís defense has stood out in the early going. The Red Raiders are allowing just 210 yards of total offense per game in their first two and have held their opponents to just 13 total points. The one touchdown Texas Tech has allowed this season came off a turnover. Of course, Texas Tech will face its toughest test of the young season Saturday in a talented Arizona offense.
The Wildcats are averaging 629.5 yards of total offense per game through two and have scored 103 points through two games. Arizona has 54 first downs in two games. This is a WHITE OUT game for Arizona and it's fan's.

Texas Tech Raiders make their first appearance in Tucson since 1988.

I hope Iím wrong but this feels like a L. I donít trust our coordinators to put our talent in a position to win. Hopefully they come out and prove me wrong

I think Arizona wins this game but it is really who shows up and while TTU has won both ga.es it is likely those two teams would have had a hard time beating NAU. I do not think we are evenly matched at all and should be a win for us, but if we have an Hawaii type experience it would not shock me. The staff has had it's moments where they just are not ready come game time as if they had never seen the opponent before. The other issue is that they tend to take the foot off the gas like in the ASU game and again in the NAU game this last weekend.

TTU's defense is underrated.  They haven't played anybody significant, but they looked solid on the D-Line.  The Red Raider offense is always dangerous, so we have to hope that we can finally get some pressure on an opposing QB...

Hawaii looks like they may be better than people think, NAU only put up points against our 3rd string D. The teams TT beat would struggle against NAU and lose badly to HI.  That all being said, I have no idea what to expect this Saturday other than at 74.5 the Over looks like a really safe bet!

TTU's defense is underrated.

Underrated? Their 2-0 and won game their were to suppose to win. Were 1-1 and we didnt play no body either, plus we lost to Hawaii of all people and we let NAU hang 41 point against our starters on D.

NAU scored a touchdown near the ned of the first half--against our starting defense. They chewed up almost eight minutes on a multiple play, touchdown drive to start the second half--again the scoring drive was against our starters. So no, NAU scored a minimum of half their points against the first team D. Facts matter.

Based on the over/under and the fact that nobody is talking about their defense that is ranked Top-5 in the country?  Yes, TTUís D is underrated. If you actually watched their games, youíd realize that their opponent didnít matter because they looked good.  Perhaps they arenít great, but theyíll surprise people this year.

Losing to Hawaii (a back to back bowl team) on the road is more respectable than slipping past Sacramento State 19-7. Donít downplay our loss because you hate the university for firing RichRod.

Extreme danger of going 1-2 here.  On paper the teams seem to be evenly matched.  A 50/50 game where either team could win.  We have the home field advantage and enough firepower in terms of players to put up enough points to win.  We'll see if the coaches know how to gameplan and playcall to leverage our talent on offense.

The defense needs to show some pride and play with discipline.  Something I've never seen out of them under this coaching staff.  I'm ok if we just don't have the talent but the lack of discipline and softness on defense is infuriating.  Get after the QB and make him beat you.  Sitting back afraid and getting picked apart isn't working.

It is a game we could lose, but we should win it!
