Arizona football redshirt senior running back Zach Green is excited about the upcoming 2017 season! Green just started coming into his own this last season, scoring his first touchdown against Colorado last November and then two more against ASU. Green’s performance against ASU was his breakout game, and it came at the end of the season against a rival which makes it so much more important.
Green wants to compete hard for the top spot, and why not? He understands the offense, has confidence in the coaches and he wants it.
We got a chance to catch up with Zach before Spring Practice starts this Saturday, February 18th. “I’m just really excited about this team and what we can do this season especially having the type of schedule that we do,” said Green, “We have a veteran backfield and hungry players ready to step in and fill in big shoes left from last year’s seniors.”
Just like Brandon Dawkins, Green feels empowered by his fantastic performance against ASU, and there is a reason for him to be excited.
“In all honestly I’m just excited about this season and excited that during the ASU game I was able to show all of Arizona that I could be in contention for the top running back in the PAC-12 next year,” said Green, “And that I intend to earn my keep in practice and during games by giving it 110 percent at all times!”
